Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick; Melted Violet Review

Today i'm going to write a review of my latest purchase, the new lip product from Too Faced, Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick. There are 10 shades which cover quite a good range of colors; Melted Nude, Melted Peony, Melted Marshmallow, Melted Coral, Melted Fig, Melted Violet, Melted Fuchsia, Melted Candy, Melted Ruby and Melted Berry. Mine is Melted Violet.

Too Faced describes this lipstick as an intensely saturated lip color with a precise tip applicator with the shine of a gloss, lasting power of a stain, and pigment-packed color of a liquid lipstick, all in one high-impact formula. Bold, long-wearing color glides on cleanly with the precision tip applicator, delivering rich color with staying power.  Sounds promising, right?

Known for their cute packaging design, even the Melted series is quite simple compare to the other products, the font and the heart details add cutesy touch. This lipstick comes in a tube and a slanted applicator tip. To use it, squeeze and apply it with the applicator or if you have some hygiene issue, squeeze some out onto a lip brush instead. Some people said they hate the applicator for it's not very precise and all. Thankfully i don't have any issue with it at all, it's easy to dispense and apply.

Melted Violet, described as a violet orchid, is a bright purple lipstick which truly reminds me of an orchid. I really like the color, so fun and bright.
It's creamy, opaque and glides on smoothly. It has an amazing color pay off, very vibrant. One layer is enough to cover up my natural lip color. But usually i add 2 layers just because i like 'em bold ;)
It's sort of glossy when you apply it and then become matte after a while. It's slightly drying out my lips but nothing a lip balm can't help. But you HAVE to exfoliate your lips first before wearing this as it tends to dramatically highlight your dry areas.
It has a lovely candy scent which i love very much but it disappear quickly after you apply.
Sadly it has a poor staying power. IF you don't eat or drink, it will stay about 4 hours or so. But if you are, you definitely have to re-apply. It's also not transfer-free, if you drink it will leave a mark on your glass.

To be honest i wan't that interested when i saw this lipsticks all over Instagram. BUT i finally gave up on my Sephora visit a month ago on Singapore. The packaging looked cuter in real life and when i swatched the violet one, i was sold. I had been looking for another purple lipstick as i was (and still am) into anything purple at the moment, and Melted Violet was all i wanted in purple lipstick. It a really bright purple, so vibrant and also very opaque. I decided to buy also because it was the very last item on the store that night. My friend said that the violet one is the best seller in Singapore, always sold very fast after restock. How could i resist best seller item?? Right??????? LOL.
I really like the color, so bold and stunning. And i also loveeeee the candy scent, smells so good. Sadly, because of the drying and longevity issues i'm quite disappointed with this lipstick. I expected better as it's quite pricey, around IDR 300k. So i think, no, i won't repurchase nor buy another shades.
BUT, if you don't have drying issue and you like bold lips, you should go for this lipstick. The other colors are also beautiful and have an outstanding pigmentation.

Last but not least, here's how it looks on me :)

Until next time!

xx
